In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit

Ephesians 1:13

Confirmation can be considered the next step after Baptism. It is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age compared to Baptism’s symbol of being reborn to a new life.

It is a Sacrament of mature commitment and deepening of our baptismal gifts. It perfects our Baptism and brings us the graces of the Holy Spirits that the Apostles received on Pentecost Sunday.

It is a Sacrament of empowerment as it gives us the strength to follow Jesus and us becoming involved in the mission that he gave to us and the Church.
